1) IgentForm- typical building modeling (duration 12:10)(recorded with voice)
This short film shows how to create a typical building using parametric approach. Although in IgentForm program one can quickly design more advanced structures including curved edges or fancy roof surfaces, even typical structures may be created about 30% faster than by traditional modeling (Reference example). Moreover, parametric model can be much more easily modified later, if necessary.
2) IgentForm- Simple mass modeling (duration 03:58)(recorded with voice)
Simple mass it is a mass with any contour, with straight and vertical generatrix. The sides of the contour can be straight lines, predefined curves (sine wave, circle, ellipse, etc.), or any user-defined curves.
The film presents the following options:
The definition of the parameters of the mass (mass contour, corner columns, height, number of storeys)
Definition of parameters of contour lines (beams, columns, diagonals, walls, holes in the walls, struts, railings)
3) IgentForm- Advanced mass modeling (duration 02:03)
Advanced mass it is a mass created on the base of 3 contours – the lower, the middle and the upper one. The lower contour can be any polygon, middle and upper ones are the same as the lower one with independent scaling for the X and Y axes as well as translation and rotation. Generatrix of advanced mass may be a straight line (in the case of modifying only the upper contour) or curve (in the case of modification of the middle contour)
The film presents the following options:
The definition of the parameters of the mass (mass contours – the lower, the middle and the upper one, upper, height, number of floors, middle slabs)
Definition of parameters of contour lines (beams, struts, walls)
Modeling the roof structure of the roof is available for any contour including the curved lines on the contour sides. Roof shape creating is based on raising up the contour lines (or internal lines) according to predefined curves (sine wave, circle, ellipse, etc.) or any user-defined curves and choosing the appropriate shape of the roof (by the same rules). More complex shapes can be obtained by simple parameterization of two or more lines. In the case of truss beams, both the upper and lower surfaces of the roof can be shaped(by the same rules).
The film presents the following options:
The definition of the parameters of the mass (mesh of roof beams, steel sections of beams, truss beams)
Definition of parameters of contour lines (raising up line or lines, modeling of upper and lower surfaces of the roof)
The structure may consist of one or more masses. The program allows to define the relationship of cutting one mass to another (or group of masses) treated as a parameter. This means that after each change of any parameter in any mass (resizing, changing the shape of the roof, etc.) masses will be automatically cut. Masses can be cut externally (remains part of the structure located outside the cutting mass) or internally (remains part of the structure located inside the cutting mass).
The film presents the following options:
Definition of many masses (addition of a new mass, easy parameterization)
The definition of cutting of masses (cross-cutting of two masses)
6) IgentForm- Positioning of masses (duration 02:32)
The structure may consist of one or more masses. The program allows to define the relationship of positioning of one mass to another treated as a parameter. It means, that after each change of any parameter in any mass, masses positions will be automatically adjusted. Masses can be vertically positioned (top level of one mass adjusted to bottom level of another mass, etc.) and/or horizontally positioned (matching of the characteristic points of the contours of the two masses).
The film presents the following options:
Reading file containing several masses (choosing from a list of recently used examples)
The definition of the mutual position of masses (vertical alignment, horizontal alignment, fit dimensions)
Modifying the dimensions of masses with automatic adjustment of associated masses
7) IgentForm- Modification of masses (duration 03:22)
Masses that make up the structure may be interconnected in such a way that the modification of parameters in one mass causes the automatic modification of other masses. Parametric description of masses also gives the ability of easy generation different variants of the structure.
The film presents the following options:
Load a few sample files (choosing from a list of recently used examples)
Modification of selected parameters of masses (generation of variants of the same structure in the case of a single mass and a group of masses)
Stairs are modeled as a set of elements such as landing, flight, winder stairs and ramp. The rectangular shape of the stairs (the default one) can be modified by cutting stairs mass to other masses. Stairs are automatically adjusted to the given height of the storey.
The film presents the following options:
Definition of new stairs (definition of stairs elements, number of floors)
Cutting the stairs (winder stairs rounding)
Positioning a stairway in the structure (adjusting side of the stairs to the respective side of the structure)
The outer contour of the mass can be modified by adding / removing points or change their position ( in contour lines mode), or change the position of the axes (in the axes mode). Internal lines can be defined between the characteristic points that are automatically generated as points of intersection of the axes with axes and contour lines. The default room is generated basing on the external contour. After internal lines defining and assigning walls to them, the program automatically detects all resulting spaces and calculate their surface, taking into account the thickness of the walls.
The film presents the following options:
Definition of internal lines (modification of the position of the contour points and axes, internal lines adding/removing)
12) IgentForm- Export to Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis (duration 02:06)
When model of the structure is ready, it is possible to directly export it to the native format (RTD) of Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis. Analytical model is exported, so it is essentially a model prepared for calculations.
The film presents the following options:
Opening an existing example
Export to RTD
Opening example in Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis
Performing calculations of the structure in order to verify the correctness of the model (with structure self-weight) and presentation of displacements
13) IgentForm- Export to Autodesk Revit (duration 02:23)
When model of the structure is ready, it is possible to export it to IFC format (2×3 version), which is used to exchange information between different programs.
14) IgentForm- Export to Autodesk Concrete Building Structures (CBS) (duration 03:40)
When model of the structure is ready, it is possible to export it to IFC format (2×3 version), which is used to exchange information between different programs.
At the moment analytical model of the structure is exported, so it means means that after importing the model is ready for calculations.
The film presents the following options:
Opening an existing example
Export to IFC
Opening examples in Autodesk Concrete Building Structures

Creation of a roof
Calculations (calculations by full FE method, results visualization)
15) IgentForm- Export to Autodesk 3ds Max (duration 02:42)
When model the structure is ready, it is possible to export it to OBJ format, which is a universal format for the exchange of geometric models. This enables fast transfer of the design concept and the use of advanced visualization capabilities of Autodesk 3ds Max.
